Hoo Haw.

Today...

...Ok. Haha. Had to take a food break just when I started to write this because I was looking up images of chocolate, right after I came home from work, running on empty. You'll see how the chocolate ties in later.

First of all, I had some pretty effed up dreams last night.

1) I was at a random toy store buying a huge stuffed animal hippo. All I remember is that it was about as big as me, gray, and really, really soft.

2) I got bit by a snake. Someone in my house brought a striped red and black snake home, and after a week it grew into this fat white and yellow spotted boa constrictor or whatever. For some reason I was alone with it in the house, got chased by it, and it bit me on the ankle. I remember running to my car afterward, but don't remember making it to the hospital. Hmm...

3) My sister's Yorkie died, so I bought her a stuffed animal one. What's weird is that the stuffed one eventually became alive (Pinnochio!!!). Actually, this might have been a continuation of the first dream. So dream 2, where I got bit by a snake was a commercial? Woah. That's never happened before.

So about the chocolate. Today at work was pretty cool because 1) I got to go to a field site (read "field trip for engineers") to check out some work they're doing on the BART seismic retrofits, and 2) on the way back we saw a Ghiradelli Factory Store and went in and bought hella chocolate. For cheap. Best day I've had at work in a long time.

As a last note, these stories on the news about people who get evicted from their houses, fired from their jobs, etc... and kill their families and themselves need to stop. Seriously. Have some hope/do something about your situation (besides killing everyone you "love"). And leave the kids out of it. They will be fine without your effed-up idea of parenting anyway. If I hear another story like this on the news I'm gonna kill myself. And my family.

Jk Jk Jk

Yeah, Son.

I'm pretty on top of the world right now. Got into Stanford (yeah, yeah...hiss all you want) and Gospel Choir, and rehearsal tonight was pretty awesome.

On a side note, I'm glad I keep getting reminded of the three important things in life: God, Family, and Friends.

Peace.

Engineers don't know how to writing.

It's pretty much an established fact. Here are just a few of the mistakes I came across when double checking documents:

PLEASE CORRECT THE FOLLOWING TYPOS:
"…capabible..." should read as "…capable…"
"…whole..." should read as "…hole…"
"…pimps…" should read as "…pumps…"
"…handel…" should read as "…handle…"
"…unexpected flor…" should read as "…unexpected flow…"

AND THEN:
Please define the phase "Carefully drill…" The specifications require that the Contractor drill the 3-inch diameter hole vertically within an allowable tolerance.

They're lucky I find this kind of thing funny.

Crown is the devil.

So I had just about the lamest winter break ever. The first week was spent at a Christian conference in Socal, which was good because I got to see a bunch of people that I haven't seen in a while (including my sister). Then I just worked full time at my internship for three weeks. I got my paycheck today, but it all went to tuition. Major burn.

Anyway, these are the highlights:
1) Shots after 109 final
2) Party at Kyle's celebrating the end of a bad semester
3) Winter Training
4) New Years with high school buddies (and toasting with cheap beer)
5) Dave and Buster's with some of my favorite people in the world
6) Weekend with my cousins in Reno

I haven't blogged all month, so the rest of this is just gonna be brain diarrhea of everything that comes to mind:

Some pictures I took at work when the weather was nice (it was so hard to stay in the office those days...).

Rooftop garden at work. Hidden Gem in downtown Oakland.

Catholic Cathedral with cool architecture.

Interesting fountain outside the Cathedral

What else? I got a LOT of reading done (yay). Ender in Exile, Watchmen, Look me in the Eye, Running with Scissors, Dry, Starship Troopers, and The Secret Life of Bees were some of the books I read. I'd really recommend Watchmen, especially if you're planning to see the movie which comes out in March, and Look me in the Eye (about someone's fascinating life with Asperger's Syndrome, a form of autism).

OH. This weekend I got totally wasted with my cousins. No drinking for me for a while. Haha.

I just gotta say that even though my break was lame, I thank God for my family and friends. I dunno what I'd do without you.
