Funny thing...

...happened on the way to work yesterday. I was riding my bike to BART, as always, and everything was going great. It was unusually warm out for 7 in the morning, I was listening to my iPod in one ear, jamming out to some Jason Mraz, and I wasn't tired as hell like I was all week. I turned onto a big street and I dunno why, but I didn't notice a bunch of broken beer bottles in the road ahead of me. I was about to veer left into the street, but there was a car, so I turned right really fast instinctively. Right into a metal pole. I wasn't going that fast, but momentum conservation (engineering nerd, whatever) was enough to throw me off my bike onto the sidewalk. I didn't really get hurt (couple cuts on my hands and legs), but my ego took a pretty good hit cuz I'm pretty sure that some people saw me fly off my bike from their cars.

It made me late to work cuz I had to put the chain back on and bend some stuff back the way it was supposed to be, but things worked out because my supervisor was in a meeting and didn't notice what time I came in. Plus, I was so pumped from the circumstances that I didn't need my morning cup of coffee.

Eff people who don't clean up after themselves. And to all you people who got a good laugh on your way to work, you're welcome.
