8/7/11. Transformation complete

Moved into the new place. It's the same, but cleaner because it was newly renovated. YAY

The new room mates are both Chinese. One of them is talkative, and the other is not. But he plays the guitar so he might be cool. There is, however, a chance that he might kill me in my sleep. The other day when we were moving in he was about to walk past me without introducing himself (I introduced myself). He keeps his door closed a lot, which I guess is okay. 

They both have their own sets of pots and pans, and are clean. Two days in, and they've both been cooking and no dishes piled high in the sink. I think this will be a much more pleasant experience. 

I will keep you all posted during this new chapter in my life.

move it move it.

My apartment is getting renovated, so they're moving me two doors away. I hate packing. Surprisingly, I didn't accumulate too much crap over the two years I've been in this place. And, it only took me 4 hours to pack up EVERYTHING. I like.

On a side note, watching Captain America has done wonders for my motivation at the gym. I took one of those cheesy, vain, in front of a mirror shots that I will probably be embarrassed about in a few minutes, so I'm not going to post it. muahahahaha

8/1/11. It's time again

Hit writer's block working on this paper. So I decided to paint something for my friend's birthday. It'll be posted after the fact so he doesn't find out. Back to writing!

Hasit is visiting from India, so we took him on a short hike to the Dish.

Then we made a bunch of food, sort of as a mini-housewarming for Ghyrn and James' new place.

Chill, rainy Saturday. Watched Annie Hall after swimming, working, and making dinner. I'm really gettin into Woody Allen movies!

We surprised two of my best friends at the airport. Lauren Michelle and Aarti are back from their 2 1/2 month long trek through Asia!

5/28/11. Saturday

Friends from CAL got married in the afternoon in Berkeley.

Rushed back to Stanford afterward for a farewell lab potluck.

Ran from the potluck home to bake a cake for my friend's surprise birthday party.

What an eventful day.

5/27/11. Ms. Wang and the Old Stomping Grounds

Ms. Wang, my cousin Rose, who's a high school math teacher in Stockton, took her class to visit Stanford today! We are in front of the Gates of Hell, by Rodin (hence, the non-smiley faces).

After stopping by Berk to get my car's oil changed and visit my dad, I went home and went on a hike with my mom at a park I used to play at. Hidden Lakes!

I'm still pissed that they replaced my favorite sand pit and huge rusty slide with a modern looking playground, but the views here are still the same as they used to be. Sighhhhh....   :)

...This piece of crap. 1.6 Ghz, 504 MB of RAM, 60 GB hard drive. 9 years old! Muahahaha. I'm actually surprised it still works, but it got me through most of high school and undergrad!

5/24/2011. Laptop screen died.

 

Took it to get fixed at a local shop (I get it back in a week. waaaaaaa!), and then ate at this place I've been meaning to take you all to. Phil's Treasure Pot. Cash only, the above costed about 15 bucks and each order is good for two meals. Soooo goood. Reminds me of Berkeley.

 

 Was working on some finite element analysis with a friend, and then my other friend showed up wearing exactly the same thing. Funny times!
