8/10/10. Tuesday. The day Steven Slater, don't-put-up-with-no-crap Jet Blue flight attendant, became an American hero. This one is also in my fb album, but I felt he needed a bit more recognition (on my blog that gets 4 hits a day). Here's the NY times article on him.

To a great first year, and to many years to come. Seriously, you guys (you know who I'm talking to) need to move to the bay.

I can't believe it's the end of year one. I'll make a real post sometime soon, but I just wanted to document this perfect week that I've been having. Not a calendar week - this awesomeness started last Friday and just won't seem to end.

Friday: Dim sum dinner with CAL f(riends)amily, followed by dessert at Fenton's. Crashed at my sister's place because my cousin Bobby was there. More food. Conversations reminiscing about the good ol' days.

Saturday: Met my other sister and her friend at my folk's house. We caught up because she just came back from Brazil where she was part of a bible distribution. Brazilian chocolates and comfortable flip flops (Havaianas)! Fixed up some stuff at home because some rooms are being rented out. Felt manly. Met my big fat Chinese family at a restaurant on the bay to celebrate my grandma's 89th birthday. Fun Fun Fun. More fun afterward with the cool cousins at my big sister's place.

Sunday: Church, then lunch with family friends. Came back to Stanford, and napped/swam in the pool. Suga' suga' (how u get so fly) came on the radio so I had to blast it and sing along. Watched a good zombie movie (28 weeks later) with my pals.

Monday: Biked with Esteban to Chipotle for some grub after lab. Discovered that they serve margaritas there. Biked back to watch Hot Fuzz and play boom blocks with the pals.

Tuesday: Met Aletheia and Camilo (more Berkeley f(riends)amily) for dinner at a hand-pulled noodle restaurant in Fremont. QQ Noodle. Zhajiang mein, fish, and beef spicy soup noodle soup. Perfectly chewy. Walk around Alameda Quarries lake/park. Watched the sunset paint a rosy tapestry over the lake. Boba and yogurt. Bittersweet non-goodbye.

Wednesday: Defective laser system still under warranty, so I can send it in for repairs for free. BBQ with the saints at nearby park. Food Food Food. West Coast East Coast Party. West Coast is Better.

Thursday: Didn't go into lab. Fountain hopping madness at 1 PM. Cake. Pool Party/BBQ with Structural Engineering Group at 3 PM. Lakers game. Goodbye to the Swedes.

Friday: Paintballing. End of the year party.

Saturday: World cup - U.S. ties England with lucky goal! Swimming. College Meeting.

Summer has officially begun.
